Angels Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

For Nick Adenhart, reaching the major leagues at age 21 was a dream come true. But his big-league debut turned into a nightmare.

Promoted from Class AAA after just five starts there, Adenhart became the youngest player to debut for the Angels since Francisco Rodriguez (then 20) on Sept. 18, 2002. He retired the side in order in the first inning Thursday, but the wheels came off in the second.

After a one-out single by Emil Brown, Adenhart walked the next Oakland four batters. Sixteen of his 18 pitches in that stretch missed the strike zone. Many were not even close. Two runs scored during the walk on the wild side, and two more scored on Kurt Suzuki’s bases-loaded single.

“I think it just kind of snowballed on me,” Adenhart said.
